Arizona State University saxophone professor Christopher Creviston had an outstanding debut concert at the University of Hawaii at Manoa Orvis Auditorium on Monday, October 7, 2019. On Thursday, he held a masterclass at Punahou School, Montague Hall, and shared his insights on "Learning to Manipulate the Saxophone". It was a pleasure to have Mr. Creviston share his music and saxophone mastery with us! Mr. Creviston has performed in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to the Apollo Theatre and Prince's Paisley Park. He is respected around the world as a saxophonist with the utmost control and artistry. As soloist and with the Capitol Quartet, he has been featured before some of the most respected ensembles in North America, including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the National Orchestra, and the Indianapolis Symphony. He has held positions at the Crane School of Music, the University of Windsor, the University of Michigan, and is currently on faculty at Arizona State University. Creviston is President of the North American Saxophone Alliance and a Yamaha Artist. This is definitely a sad year for all of humanity. I mean, the idea that kids are acting out this way, it just makes me want to cry. I used to live in a much more simpler generation, and it was fine. I want to go back to a time when people weren't this bad. I hope that we can turn back into a society that allows people to just be themselves. We need to let down on the pressure.
